EYE CARE WITH ROSEWATER

 ROSEWATER is an extract of rose flower petals.  It is available in different grades over the counter. It can be prepared at home.

 The rosewater is made through three different processes.

Simmer

Distillation

Rose oil

What are the uses of rosewater?

Rosewater cleanses the eyes. 

It will remove dust.

It soothes the eyes.

It prevents allergies to the eyes.

It reduces inflammation of the eyes. 

It nonmedicated treatment of the eyes.


Acute dacryocystitis 

It is caused by an infectious tear gland. Rosewater cleanses dirt and allergens from the eyes and thus prevents infection in the tear glands.

Pinguecula and pterygium

PingueculaYellow bump at the side of the nose. It is made of protein, fats, and calcium.

pterygium is fleshy tissue growth that covers the cornea.

Both of these conditions require medical treatment. But these are caused by infections of the eye. These are prevented by the use of rosewater.

Conjunctival xerosis 

Dry eye. It is an infective dry eye membrane. Rosewater prevents conjunctival xerosis.

Cataracts 

It is the cloudiness of the eye. It causes blurry vision. The symptoms increase with time. It causes impaired vision. Rosewater prevents infection of the eye. It soothes inflammation of the eye.
Eyecare slows down the progression of the disease.

How to use rosewater for the eye?

Turmeric, the wonder spice for skin

 Turmeric ( Curcuma longa)  is a super Spice used in South Asia. It is a medicine used in Ayurvedic preparation. It is used for skin treatment and skin whitening. Curcumin is the active agent of turmeric. It is used in food preparation as well as a skincare treatment.




 Turmeric is a remedy against acne dark circles, vitiligo, and a bacterial infection in the skin. Turmeric has antibacterial and antimicrobial activity. Thus it helps reduction of infection in the skin. It has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents. So, it reduces swelling of the skin.

 In Ayurveda turmeric is used to balance vaat, Pitt, and Kapha. A number of Ayurvedic preparations are available for skin treatment, which have turmeric as their main component. These include over-the-counter soaps, lotions, and serum.

 HOW EFFECTIVE IS TURMERIC AGAINST SKIN PROBLEMS?

Turmeric night serum is made using Aloe vera gel and turmeric Essential oil. This serum improves the tone of the skin. It lightens the skin and overnight repairs the skin.

SCABIES

Turmeric is used against scabies. Turmeric along with water and neem is used against scabies. It cleanses the skin. Both turmeric and neem kill the parasite when the paste is applied to the body.  Fenugreek and Heena hair mask

Soak Fenugreek seeds in water overnight.

 Make a paste of it.

 Mix this paste in Heena.

 Apply on hair, and keep it for an hour or two.

 Wash with water.

 This will condition your hair.

 Reduce the itchiness of hair and dandruff.

 This will also give a good color to hair.  This mixture is a good Natural dye.

 This mask can be used once a week for good and shiny hair.

Homemade fenugreek seed oil



Anti-inflammatory and anti-infection oil can be prepared using fenugreek seeds.

Soak a cup of fenugreek seeds in the oil of your choice, coconut oil, castor oil, almond oil, or sesame oil. Keep in a dark bottle under the sun for 15 days.

Oils of fenugreek will be diffuse in the oil.

Store this oil for future use.

Massage this oil gently on the scalp before washing hair.

This is a treatment against dandruff.

Everyday Uses of Aloe vera Gel for Skin

Aloe vera has water, minerals, mucopolysaccharides, amino acids, fatty acids, and enzymes. These components are very useful for skin. Aloe vera hydrates the skin. It tightens, brightens, and heals the skin. We can use aloe vera in face washes, night creams, day creams, moisturizers, or face packs. These can be prepared at home using simple components. Over-the-counter variants of these products are also available. 


 Three types of damage of the skin

Skin is the sensitive part of the body. The face, neck, and arms are exposed to the environment. So, it is prone to three types of damage.

 Increase water content without making it too dry.

 

 Night cream

 A nourishing night cream can be prepared using aloe vera gel.

 Add 2-3 capsules of Vitamin E into aloe vera gel.

 Whisk the mixture.

 Apply it after washing the face. 

Keep it overnight.

 Wash with water in the morning.

WHY DO WE USE ALOE VERA FOR SKIN?


Aloe vera is a succulent, xerophytic perennial plant known to greeks as a panacea of health for 2000 years.

 Aloe vera is found in Africa, Asia, and Europe. In India, it is found in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Tamilnadu.

 Aloe vera has succulent leaves. The leaves when cut show three different layers- the inner layer of clear gel, the middle thick layer that has latex and yellow sap, and the Outer layer.

The outer layer is protective and synthetic in function.

 Multani mitti or the fuller Earth is traditionally used in India in face packs and skincare products. Multani mitti is a home solution for a number of skin-related problems such as acne pimples and damaged skin.

 Multani mitti has absorbent and drying properties, so, it is used to treat pimples and acne for oily skin. With some modifications, it can also be used for dry skin also as a face pack.

 Multani mitti is used to treat pimples as it has antibacterial activity. It is used to balance oil as it dries the extra oil from the skin. Further, it acts as an absorbent for dirt and dead skin and pulls them out from the skin.

 How to use Multani mitti?

Multani mitti is used in a number of ways depending on the type of skin.

 Face packs for oily skin are

Multani mitti and rose water face pack



 Wet Multani mitti in rose water.

 Apply on skin

 Let it dry for 15 to 20 minute

 Rinse with water

Use this simplest face pack twice a week.

This face pack removes the bacteria from the skin.

Absorbs excess oil from skin, pulls up the blackheads from the skin.


 Multani mitti has anti-inflammatory action so, it reduces the inflammation of the skin caused due to Sun radiation or injury.

Add Multani mitti in rose water add a pinch of turmeric into it

 apply it on face neck areas, let it dry what 20 minutes

 rinse with cold water

 Sandalwood face pack of Multani mitti



Add Multani mitti with an equal amount of sandalwood powder

 Add Rose Water to it.

 Mix them, apply this face pack on face and neck areas.

Allow it to dry for 20 minutes.

 Rinse with cold water.

Use this face pack twice a week for better result

 Anti-inflammation and hyperpigmentation face pack of Multani mitti

 Add Multani mitti powder  in flaxseed gel

 Add two over-the-counter capsules of Vitamin E.

Apply on face and neck area this face pack on face and neck.

It soothes inflammation and reduces hyperpigmentation.

 Face packs for dry skin

 As Multani mitti has absorbent properties, dry skin can become drier if you use Multani mitti. For dry skin following face-packs can be used

 

 

 

Multani mitti and honey



 Wet Multani mitti in rose water

 Add a spoonful of Honey or glycerine to it

 Mix well and apply on face neck and hyperpigmented areas.

 Allow it to dry wash with cold water.

 Multani mitti and curd face pack

 Add Multani mitti in two spoonfuls of curd

Add 2 capsules of vitamin E and mix them well

Apply on face and neck areas

Rinse with cold water

 Cucumber face pack of Multani mitti

Grate a cucumber; squeeze it to extract cucumber water.

 Add Multani mitti in this water,

 add a spoonful of glycerin or Honey to it

apply the mixture on the face neck and arms allow it to dry wash it with cold water

PRECAUTIONS OF USING MULTANI MITTI

 Do not use the Multani mitti face pack daily.

 Limit Multan Mitti use in winter.

 Add honey or glycerin to Multani Mitti if your skin is dry

 Apply moisturizer for dry skin after using Multani mitti face pack

 Do not let the pores open after using Multani mitti

Use only twice a week maximum

Never eat Multani mitti.
